Francis Tuttle Technology Center students earned at least five gold medals at national leadership conferences this summer.
Career Tech Student Organization (CSTO) chapters sent delegations of Francis Tuttle students to conferences for SkillsUSA, HOSA, BPA, DECA, TSA, and FCCLA throughout the late spring and summer. Every student gained valuable experience and networking opportunities to expand their knowledge of the industry they hope to join.
A total of 10 students competing at the SkillsUSA National Leadership Conference in Atlanta earned a top-three finish. The Quiz Bowl team of Mariah Stiggers, Trevor Hoffner, Josiah Peoples, Jesus Ramirez, and Rylon Basco brought home the gold.
The BPA National Leadership Conference in Nashville produced four gold medals and six top-three finishes for Francis Tuttle. Berek Smith, Haleigh Dean, Andrew Carneiro, and Zayvan Washington placed first in Broadcast News Production Team.
Vanessa Pineda, Elizabeth Powers, and Kathryn Buckendorff won first in Website Design Team. Lee Maestas and Kimberly Sounders teamed up for a gold medal in User Experience Design, while Michael Crawford won first in Fundamentals of Web Design.
Francis Tuttle students begin their CTSO journey at the beginning of the school year by becoming members and electing officers. These organizations allow students to connect with others across the state and country who share their same interests and are eager to learn more about the profession for which they are training.
