Automotive Collision Repair Technology

The auto body repair industry is changing as quickly as the computer industry, making it an exciting career option. Vehicles are now made with new plastics, aluminum and on-board, high tech electrical systems. Our program is accredited by the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF) and includes basic and advanced training aligned with I-CAR advanced instruction to estimate damages, repair and finish vehicles. Auto collision repair and refinishing technicians work on vehicles damaged as a result of collisions and wear.  
In addition to technical training, the program provides personal skills necessary for improved employment opportunities through WorkKeys and portfolio development.

- Independent Automotive Body Shops

Occupational Characteristics
- Moderate to high noise levels
- Dusty working environment
- Indoor work environment which may or may not
  be climate controlled
- Work with numerous paint-related chemicals
- Work with a variety of large shop equipment
- Work with a variety of hand held power tools
- Flexibility to work while kneeling and
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
For Success in this Career You Should Have
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work independently
- Willingness to adapt to new technologies and
  methods for performing auto body work
- Ability to do detail work with hands and eyes

Rockwell Campus, Transportation Technology Building
2 sessions:
8:00 am  - 10:55 am and 12:30 pm  - 3:25 pm
High school students and part-time adults enroll in either the AM or PM session. Full-time adult students enroll in both sessions.
