Programming and Software Development

Overview
The Programming and Software Development program is a great fit for the analytical student who has a love for computers. Computer programmers use logic and reasoning to identify complex problems and create innovative solutions. Projected occupational demand is high and the pay is very good.
Our program provides training in object-oriented computer programming. The primary emphasis is web-based computer applications for business. State-of-the-art rapid application development tools are used for both open source and .Net platforms.

Employment Opportunities
Programmers and programmer/analysts are employed in almost every industry. Employment opportunities are available in organizations which rely on computers and information technology to conduct business.
Occupational Characteristics
Programmers primarily work independently, either in an office or from home. Prolonged sitting and use of a computer/keyboard is required. To be successful, programmers must have strong problem solving skills and attention to detail.
For Success in this Career You Should Have
Students should have an aptitude for abstract reasoning and problem-solving. Strong time management skills are also essential.

2 sessions:
8:00 am - 10:55 am and 12:30 pm - 3:25 pm
High school students and part-time adults enroll in either the AM or PM session. Full-time adult students enroll in both sessions.
