Service Careers - Hospitality

Overview
Service positions are plentiful in today's job market. The Service Careers program provides students with technical training and experience in a variety of service occupations involving a culinary assistant. In addition to learning a job skill, students are taught personal life skills and employability skills such as job readiness and independent living.

Occupational Characteristics
Jobs in this career field typically require prolonged standing and working. The work environment is often high temperature due to the use of gas and electric cooking equipment as well as other commercial food preparation equipment. Noise level is low to moderate.

Basic reading and math skills, ability to make decisions, ability to work both independently and as part of a team, ability to maintain composure while working under pressure

Daytime only - 2 sessions:
8:00 am - 10:55 am and 12:30 pm - 3:25 pm
Students attend either the AM or PM session.
