About this Program

Accounting Services provides important training in financial accounting, analytical skills, and software applications, allowing individuals to become full-charge bookkeepers. These jobs provide accurate, valued, and trusted financial information that is used to make important decisions.

As an accounting clerk or accounting associate, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective collection and use of money that keeps a company running. The range of majors allows you to choose the level of expertise you will need for the career you want.

Online Option

An online class is available to adult students for some of the material. Content is available through Canvas and the textbook publishers' website. Students must have their own computer with an internet connection, a printer, and Microsoft Office 2021/365 software. They are also required to complete an hour-long, on-campus orientation with the instructor.

Accounting Associate

About this Major

As the number of organizations increases and financial regulations remain a focus, the demand for accounting services positions will increase, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Providing useful, accurate financial information is paramount to any company's success.

In the Accounting Associate major, students gain advanced knowledge of accounting practices and administrative duties. They gain experience on how to effectively communicate and manage financial matters in a way that can both keep a company on the right track and illuminate possible next steps in its growth.

Completion of this major qualifies a student to gain certification in a number of accounting services, including accounts payable and receivable, bookkeeping and payroll accounting.

Accounting Clerk

About this Major

In the Accounting Clerk Major, students will acquire a basic understanding of accounting and administrative services. An introductory accounting course and fundamental courses in administrative technology will ensure the student has what they need to operate in accounting services positions.

Completion of this major includes certification for the student to occupy an accounts payable position within a company.
