About this Program

Digital Media provides a unique opportunity for students to express themselves creatively through various media forms. Through animation, web design, video production, podcasting, or motion media, students can use these skills to tell stories, showcase their passions, and bring their ideas to life. This is where creativity meets technology.

Students can let their imaginations soar while learning to design assets to achieve a client’s goals. Resources are available to help students implement their best ideas, drawing tablets, digital cameras, lighting, and more. Students tend to have fun while learning valuable skills, and when they complete the program, they will have a digital portfolio to showcase their work.

Each student is provided with a MacBook Pro laptop and will have access to the Adobe Creative Cloud, which includes industry-standard software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro. To enhance the learning experience, students can also check out equipment, such as cameras, tripods, and microphones, to use for their projects that might take place outside of class time. With these tools and resources, students will be well-equipped to produce high-quality digital content while giving them a competitive edge in the field.

Whether you want to be a filmmaker, a game designer, a photographer, or a digital marketing professional, this program can give you the tools and training you need to succeed. In our Digital Media Design program, you can create dynamic visuals that engage and inspire others. Don’t just consume media; learn to create it!

2D Animator

About this Major

The major begins with an introduction to design fundamentals, which provides students with the foundational knowledge necessary to create engaging and visually appealing animations. Students will learn color theory, composition, typography, and design elements.

The program then moves on to Animation Techniques, where students will use Toon Boom Harmony, software industry professionals use worldwide. Students will learn how to use Toon Boom Harmony to create 2D animations, including character animations. They will also learn about the various tools and features available in the software, including vector drawing tools, rigging, and timeline animation.

After mastering the fundamentals of 2D animation, students will progress to learning the basics of 3D modeling and animation, as well as motion graphics. Additionally, they will enhance their brainstorming, ideation, and concept development abilities to generate inventive and unique ideas for their animations.

In the production of 2D animations, students will be guided in pre-production planning, storyboarding, character design, and advanced animation techniques. Students will also create a portfolio of their work to showcase their skills and creativity to potential employers or assist them with entrance into universities or art schools that offer programs in animation or related fields.
