About this Program

Every child deserves a fun, safe place to learn and grow. Our early childhood development program offers you the chance to be that healthy, educational influence in a child's life. Students train with our comprehensive child development curriculum and receive real-world experience by working with young children in the on-campus Francis Tuttle Child Development Center. This early child care experience provides graduates with both the learned skills and experience necessary to transition into the child development industry. It is more than just a career; it is a calling to guide the development of young minds into tomorrow's community leaders.

Early Childhood Education Majors

Early Childhood Education Master Teacher

About this Major

Early Childhood Education Master Teacher students learn how to instruct and implement child development plans to teach others or train childcare employees. Students learn about lesson planning, child behavior, and how to promote positive relationship-building in the classroom, as well as methods for passing that information to others in the childcare profession.

Graduates find successful careers at childcare centers, in preschool classrooms, in private homes as nannies, in church childcare programs and nurseries, or in after-school care programs in public schools.

The work environment for master teacher graduates is fast-paced and ever-changing. Childcare workers perform their job in both indoor and outdoor settings, regardless of the weather conditions. Child care can be physically demanding, and workers often must be able to stand for long periods, sit and crawl on the floor with children, and lift children and furniture weighing up to 50 pounds.
