Cyber Security and Network Defense

This program is no longer accepting applications.  Please refer to our new program Cyber Security and Network Defense which is now accepting applications.

As technology and the Internet grow, security of information systems within our personal and professional lives become more and more likely to be compromised. In Francis Tuttle’s Cyber Security and Network Defense program, students acquire the knowledge and skills they will need to provide and maintain the level of security that the modern world demands. Students learn to setup, maintain, and troubleshoot local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs), and develop processes essential for adequate system security.

After receiving the training and education included in this program, students will be eligible to take a variety of certification exams, including the CompTIA A+, Security+, Microsoft MTA’s in Operating Systems, Networks, and Security, Linux Professional Institute Essentials, and E-C Council’s Cyber Forensics Associate and Ethical Hacking Associate. In addition, students will have the opportunity to learn about how the Internet of Things (IoT) impacts the world of information systems and the new security threats that will need to be dealt with on such new technology.  Students will participate in various skills-based competitions such as SkillsUSA, CyberPatriot, and the National Cyber League to help reinforce skills learned throughout the school year.
