About this Major

**This program will be discontinued after the 2023-2024 school year.  We are no longer accepting applications.  For those students currently enrolled a teach-out option will be offered.

Medical Office Technology is designed to prepare students for entry-level employment in a medical, dental, or hospital office setting. This program specializes in administration, with an emphasis on the practice of various medical office skills. The student completes classroom work using a personal computer. Current skills for word processing and medical office procedures are practiced.

As a medical office receptionist, you will work, often at the front desk of a doctor's office, clinic or hospital. It is important to have strong proofreading, interpersonal, organizational and time management skills, and the ability to communicate professionally and establish a rapport with clients and colleagues.
