Visual Effects Technician

About this Major

The Visual Effects Technician major lets you experience 3D Modeling, Animation, and Visual Effects and enter college with clearly defined goals for your future. You'll acquire unique skills, gain confidence, and develop a portfolio that can help you compete for scholarships.

Experience our state-of-the-art training studio that incorporates motion capture and 3D printing. Autodesks' Oscar-winning software, Maya, is the primary application for our program. You will gain valuable experience that will help you stand out from the crowd while using additional CGI tools, including Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Apple Final Cut Pro, ZBrush, MotionBuilder and compositing applications.

  • Full-time: 5 months
  • Part-time: 10 months
  • Program length may vary based on progress rate and/or summer school attendance

Times

Daytime classes, two sessions: Monday — Friday

  • 8 a.m. to 10:55 a.m.
  • 12:30 p.m. to 3:25 p.m.
  • High school students and part-time adults enroll in either AM or PM session. Full-time adult students enroll in both sessions
