About this Occupation

Automotive service technicians maintain automotive systems and diagnose and repair issues by applying a systematic, methodical approach to solving problems. Some tasks require the abilitie to perform detailed work with the hands and eyes. For success in this career, automotive service technicians must be able to work both independently and as a team member. In addition, automotive employers expect a clean and neat appearance that displays professionalism. Additionally, employers are seeking employees with a good driving record, a clean background check and the ability to pass a drug test.
