Certified Patient Care Technician

*It is preferred that students take CNA first, but it is not required.

A Certified Patient Care Technician (CPCT) is a healthcare professional who provides advanced basic care and support to patients under the supervision of nurses or other medical teams by performing direct patient care and a range of clinical and administrative duties including, but not limited to: Monitor vital signs, Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding, Collect specimens for lab testing (blood, urine, etc.), Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs), Helping with mobility and transfers, including turning and repositioning patients to prevent bedsores, Observe and report changes in patient condition to the nursing staff, Ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients and more.

  • Immunizations: Due to clinical facility requirements, in addition to all previously scheduled required childhood immunizations, students need 2 TB tests, a flu shot, and a COVID shot.
  • 1 set of scrubs provided by Francis Tuttle
  • Shoes - $40.00-$100.00

*Immunization costs can vary widely depending upon the specific immunizations needed and where they are obtained. All students add cost of clinical immunizations to the estimated total. Additional scrubs may be purchased for approximately $30.00 each, if desired.
