Certified Medication Aide (CMA) Advanced Respiratory

This 4-hour course provides advanced training for the Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to provide care to long-term care residents with specific needs. Students receive advanced training in providing treatments using inhalers, metered-dose inhalers, and nebulizers. All skill demonstrations require 100% proficiency. This class qualifies as required CMA update hours when combined with the CMA Advanced Nasogastric/Gastrostomy Medication Class. 

The course is a self-paced flexible option format with the option to complete limited online hours via our Flexible Health Zoom Classroom. In person class hours located at the Edmond Campus. Students work with the instructor to create a calendar based on individual needs.

PREREQUISITES: Must have a current LTCA/CMA status on the State Nurse Aide Registry for certification to be placed on the Nurse Aide Registry as an advanced CMA status.
