Barber Master Instructor

Our Master Barber Instructor career major is designed to teach the licensed barber the skills to become a barber instructor. The curriculum includes teaching methods, learning philosophies, and professional development. This major prepares you for the Oklahoma State Board of Cosmetology and Barbering Master Instructor licensure exam by providing the training and practice you need to become an effective educator for all phases of Barbering. You will study the latest teaching techniques and learning theories while you practice teaching in our on-campus salon and classroom. The Master Barber Instructor career major requires self-discipline, perseverance, and may require extended periods of study time for the student.

Licensure/Certifications

  • Oklahoma State Board of Cosmetology and Barbering Exam*
  • Oklahoma State Board of Cosmetology and Barbering Barber License*

*To obtain the Oklahoma State Board of Cosmetology and Barbering Master Instructor license, the student will be responsible for the $10.00 State Board registration fee.  Francis Tuttle will pay the State Board Exam Registration fee ($45.00) and the Oklahoma State Board of Cosmetology and Barbering Basic Barber license fee ($60.00) after the student obtains a passing score on the state licensure test.

  • Full-time: 3 months of instruction
  • Part-time: 5 months of instruction (Daytime only)
  • Program length may vary based on progress rate and/or summer school attendance.

Times

Daytime classes, two sessions: Monday - Friday

  • 7:55 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
  • 12:30 p.m. to 3:35 p.m.
  • Part-time adults enroll in either the AM or PM session. Full-time adult students enroll in both sessions.
