Whether you are looking to enter the healthcare field or update your credentials, Francis Tuttle's Flexible Health Options classes provide you with valuable skills on a time frame that works.

Students can enroll at any time throughout the year and complete their training time during the available classroom hours. They can select the days and hours of attendance that fit their schedule and set a target end date.

Classes are delivered in a hybrid format with the option to complete a portion of the hours online via Zoom.

Certified Medication Aide (CMA)

About this Major

This course is intended for Certified Nurse Aides (CNAs) preparing to take the State Certified Medication Aide (CMA) Exam. It covers essential topics such as body systems, medication classifications, administration techniques, documentation, and safety standards.

The course includes 60 hours of instruction over 9 weeks in a flexible, self-paced hybrid format. Hybrid means a combination of in-person classes and optional online hours via our Flexible Health Zoom Classroom. All skills training and exams must be completed in person, requiring weekly on-site attendance. Students work with the instructor to create a personalized schedule and may choose to complete the entire course in person if preferred.

To enroll, students must be fluent in reading, speaking, and understanding English. A valid photo ID and Social Security card are required for certification testing.

Prerequisites

  • A high school diploma or GED
  • Current Long Term Care Aide (LTCA) status on the State Nurse Aide Registry
  • Six months work experience as an long term care aide (LTCA), home health aide (HHA), or developmentally disabled direct care aide (DDCA)
  • Must also be 18 years of age or older

Certified Medication Aide (CMA) Advanced Glucose Monitoring & Insulin Administration

About this Major

This course is designed for currently certified Medication Aides (CMAs) seeking advanced training in diabetes care for long-term care residents. The focus is on the proper techniques for glucose monitoring and insulin administration in stable residents.

The course includes 24 hours of instruction delivered in a flexible, self-paced hybrid format. Hybrid means a combination of in-person classes and limited optional online hours via our Flexible Health Zoom Classroom. All skills training and exams must be completed in person, and students will work with the instructor to create a personalized schedule. Students may also choose to complete all hours in person if preferred. The student must pass the State Nurse Aide Registry written exam for Insulin/Glucose Monitoring with a score of 80% or higher. The cost of the exam is the responsibility of the student.

This course qualifies toward the required CMA update hours.

Certified Medication Aide (CMA) Advanced Nasogastric, Gastrostomy

This course is intended for currently certified Medication Aides (CMAs) seeking advanced training in the administration of medications and nutrition through nasogastric and gastrostomy tubes. It is designed to prepare CMAs to safely care for long-term care residents with specialized enteral needs.

The course includes 6 hours of instruction delivered in a flexible, self-paced hybrid format. Hybrid means a combination of in-person instruction and limited optional online hours through our Flexible Health Zoom Classroom. All skills training and exams must be completed in person. Students will work with the instructor to develop a personalized schedule and may choose to complete all hours in person if preferred. All skill demonstrations must be completed in person and require 100% proficiency.

This course qualifies toward the required CMA update hours when taken in combination with the CMA Advanced Respiratory Class, which requires separate enrollment.

Certified Medication Aide (CMA) Advanced Respiratory

About this Major

This course is intended for currently certified Medication Aides (CMAs) seeking advanced training to care for long-term care residents with specific respiratory needs. It focuses on the proper administration of treatments using inhalers, metered-dose inhalers (MDIs), and nebulizers.

The course includes 4 hours of instruction offered in a flexible, self-paced hybrid format. Hybrid means a combination of in-person classes and optional online hours via our Flexible Health Zoom Classroom. All skills training and exams must be completed in person. Students work with the instructor to create a personalized schedule and may choose to complete the entire course in person if preferred. All skill demonstrations must be completed in person and require 100% proficiency.

This course qualifies toward the required CMA update hours when taken in combination with the CMA Advanced Nasogastric/Gastrostomy Medication class. The Nasogastric/Gastrostomy Medication class is a separate enrollment.

This course is intended for currently certified Medication Aides (CMAs) who need to complete the 8 hours of continuing education required by the Oklahoma State Department of Health. It covers topics relevant to medication administration and professional practice updates to meet state renewal standards.

The course includes 8 hours of instruction offered in a flexible, self-paced hybrid format. Hybrid means a combination of in-person classes and optional online hours via our Flexible Health Zoom Classroom. Students work with the instructor to create a personalized schedule and may choose to complete the entire course in person if preferred.

Upon completion, students receive a certificate of attendance and a CMA renewal application. It is the student’s responsibility to submit the renewal form to the Oklahoma Nurse Aide Registry to update certification status.

Home Health Aide (HHA) Deeming

The Certified Medical Laboratory Assistant (CMLA) with Introductory Biotechnology Exploration program is a two-part, short-term training program designed for adult learners seeking entry into clinical laboratory careers. The first portion of the program focuses on phlebotomy concepts and hands-on blood collection skills, while the second portion emphasizes the medical laboratory setting, including laboratory safety, specimen processing, waived testing, quality control, and professionalism. Instruction is delivered through a combination of classroom instruction, simulation, hands-on laboratory experiences, and supervised clinical practice, with introductory biotechnology concepts integrated to broaden student exposure to modern laboratory science.

Medication Administration Technician (MAT)

  • Must take the Next Generation Accuplacer Exam for reading and writing with a minimum score of 230. Tests can be scheduled online.

Phlebotomy Technician

This 48-hour course is designed for individuals seeking foundational training as a Phlebotomy Technician. Students will learn the essential theory and practical skills needed to perform safe and effective blood draws in a variety of healthcare settings. Emphasis is placed on developing hands-on skills and theoretical knowledge in a supportive and flexible learning environment.

The course includes 48 hours of instruction over 10 weeks in a flexible, self-paced hybrid format. Hybrid means a combination of in-person classes and optional online hours via our Flexible Health Zoom Classroom. All skills training and exams must be completed in person, requiring weekly on-site attendance. Students work with the instructor to create a personalized schedule and may choose to complete the entire course in person if preferred

Students will practice phlebotomy techniques on mannequins in the lab. After successful completion of the course, students have the option to enroll in a Phlebotomy Practicum, which provides hands-on clinical experience in an approved healthcare setting. Participation in the practicum is subject to meeting site-specific requirements, including background screening, immunizations and documentation outlined in the clinical site agreement.

Students who complete both the course and the optional practicum may meet the eligibility requirements to pursue national certification through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
