Physical Therapy Aide

About this Major

The Physical Therapy Aide Training Program prepares students to support licensed physical therapists in various clinical and rehabilitation settings. Students will learn how to assist with patient care tasks, set up treatment areas, manage equipment, and perform basic administrative duties. The program emphasizes professionalism, communication, and safe practices while introducing students to basic human anatomy, medical terminology, and patient mobility techniques. Completers will be well-equipped for entry-level positions and may choose to pursue further education in physical therapy or related healthcare fields.

  • Part-time: 1 school year
  • A typical school year includes 9 months of instruction. Program length may vary based on progress rate and/or summer school attendance.

Times

Daytime classes, two sessions: Monday — Friday

  • 7:55 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
  • 12:30 p.m. to 3:35 p.m.
  • High school students and part-time adults enroll in either AM or PM session. Full-time adult students enroll in both sessions.
