About this Major

Jobs typically require prolonged standing while working. The work environment often consists of high-temperatures due to the use of gas and electric cooking equipment as well as other commercial food preparation equipment. Success in this career is defined by the ability to make decisions, work independently and as part of a team, and maintain composure while under pressure. You should also have basic reading and math skills.

Licensures/certifications

Students have the opportunity to take online assessments and receive the ServSafe Food Handler, Hospitabilities Certification, and/or the Food Allergen Certification.

Two sessions: Daytime classes

  • Students enroll in either the AM or PM session
