Students will heighten their skill level as a Structural Welder. Application of advanced welding techniques in Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (TIG), pipe and fabrication are used to build, assemble and repair metal projects. 

Licensure / Certifications

  • 6G Oklahoma Department of Labor Certified Welder

*One certification paid by Francis Tuttle. Additional, optional certifications are available at student expense.

Length

  • Full-time: 1 school year
  • Part-time: 2 school years

A typical school year includes 9 months of instruction. Program length may vary based on progress rate and/or summer school attendance.

Times

Two sessions: 7:55 am - 11:00 am and 12:30 pm - 3:35 pm, Monday - Friday

High school students and part-time adults enroll in either the AM or PM session. Full-time adult students enroll in both sessions.

Starting August 2025, the Danforth Campus will offer Welding

  • Advanced Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) 70 hours
  • Advanced Metal Cutting & Fabrication 60 hours
  • Advanced Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) 60 hours
  • Career Capstone/Work-Based Learning 50 hours
