The Biosciences and Medicine Academy is designed to prepare high school students for success in colleges and universities. Rigorous math and science (Honors and AP level only) are combined with medically related classes to provide students with the academics they will need to be successful in a Bachelor's degree program, and an understanding of the broad field of biosciences and medicine. The goal of the academy is to provide Academic Prep, Hands on Learning, Leadership, and exceptional experiences. This program of study is designed to help students determine what career field they want to pursue. High school students may attend for up to three (3) school years. Graduates from the Academy should be planning to pursue a college or university track to obtain a degree in some field within biosciences and medicine. College credit for Advanced Placement courses is available upon passing the appropriate AP College Board Exam(s). Universities vary in their recognition of AP credits, therefore, the number of available credit hours will depend upon the policies of the specific university a graduate plans to attend.

Daytime classes, part-time only: Monday - Friday
A total of 15 courses are taught in the Academy, however, a three year student will be able to complete only 12 courses. Therefore, the total number of courses listed exceeds the number of courses a student can take in the Biosciences and Medicine Academy. The exact sequence of math, science and PLTW courses will be determined by previously taken math and science courses. In addition, please remember that students may enter the academy as a junior, which also impacts the sequence and number of courses.
