Esthetician

Join a growing industry within the beauty profession and help people maintain nice, clean and healthy faces.

Due to an extensive waitlist, this program is currently not accepting ADULT applications at the Rockwell or Reno Campus for any daytime offerings (AM, PM, or Fulltime). If you would like to be contacted when the application re-opens for adults, please complete this form OR check back to our website at a later date. If you are interested in our Evening Program at the Rockwell or Reno Campuses, you may still apply today.

Facial care is one of the fastest-growing specialties within the beauty profession, with the development of new products and techniques. Specialists in this area can find work in some of the finest salons offering the latest in facial-care technology and products.

Students in this program are exposed to that new technology, as well as the best techniques for esthetics by instructors with professional experience. Students learn facial massage; characteristics and function of the skin; electrical, chemical, and light therapy; facial machine techniques; and skin analysis.

Upon completion, students qualify to take the State Board of Cosmetology and Barbering exam for licensing as an esthetician. Already licensed estheticians can take our Master Educator course and help contribute to this fast-growing field.

About this Occupation

Estheticians perform detained work with their hands and eyes. There is a focus on personal protective equipment that must be used in some circumstances, and high sanitation standards are essential. The work environment can be fast-paced, so self-motivation and strong time management skills are important. In addition, estheticians must be able to communicate in a professional manner, establish rapport with clients and colleagues, and maintain high standards for quality and customer service.
