About this Major
The major begins with the Graphic Design course, providing students with a solid foundation in design fundamentals, including color theory, typography, composition, and visual communication.
After completing the Graphic Design course, students will select five electives that enable them to concentrate on specific areas of digital media design, such as motion graphics, 3D modeling and animation, immersive reality, or game design. This flexibility allows students to tailor their education to their career goals and interests.
The capstone course allows students to demonstrate their skills and knowledge in digital media design. Students will develop a portfolio of their work showcasing their digital media design expertise and demonstrate their ability to create engaging and compelling digital content.
In addition to the capstone course, students will complete the Digital Media Production course, where they will apply the skills and knowledge acquired throughout the major to a real-world project and gain hands-on experience in digital media design.
The Digital Media Designer major is well-suited for creative individuals who have strong attention to detail and can think critically and problem-solve. Individuals passionate about using technology to communicate and convey ideas, messages, and stories would also find this major appealing.
