About this Program
Sterile Processing Technicians play a critical role in patient safety by ensuring that every surgical instrument is properly cleaned, sterilized, and ready for use. They work behind the scenes in hospitals and surgical centers, maintaining the highest standards of infection control and supporting surgical teams with precision and care.
Students in this program learn to inspect, assemble, package, and sterilize instruments using industry-standard equipment and procedures. Faculty provide hands-on instruction and guided lab experience, emphasizing both technical accuracy and professional responsibility.
Clinical placements in healthcare facilities allow students to apply their skills in real-world settings, gaining the hours and experience required to sit for national certification as a Sterile Processing Technician.
What You’ll Learn:
- Principles of sterilization and infection control
- Decontamination and assembly of surgical instruments

Immunizations
Due to clinical facility requirements, in addition to all previously scheduled required childhood immunizations, students need:
- 2 TB tests
- Flu shot
- COVID shot
