Francis Tuttle students compete at national conferences

Competitors record 26 first-place awards in summer competitions

Though graduation ceremonies had wrapped up by early June, summer was still a busy time for Francis Tuttle Technology Center students involved in national competitions.

There were 26 first-place finishes recorded by Francis Tuttle students across all national conferences. That includes six team competition wins.

Career Tech Student Organizations (CTSO) are national associations that bring together students and instructors in related fields of interest. They provide additional learning and networking opportunities, and students are elected to leadership positions at the local and national levels.

Competitions are held at the district, state, and national level. Winning these competitions shows a student has mastered a skill or developed the knowledge they need to be successful in their job.

Both high school and post-secondary students competed.

National CTSO conferences were held across the country. Students attending the Business Professionals of America (BPA) conference traveled to Chicago.

FCCLA held its conference in Seattle, while HOSA students traveled to Houston. The SkillsUSA national conference took place in Atlanta.

Francis Tuttle also sent students to the DECA global conference in Anaheim, Calif., and the Technology Student Association (TSA) conference in Orlando.

All the first-place award winners are listed below, along with their names, statuses, programs, and high schools, if applicable. Francis Tuttle students put in a lot of hard work and extra time to achieve these results and represented the district and Oklahoma well.
