Video Producer 23-24

About this Major

The Video Producer major offers students the most advanced courses to prepare them for a career in broadcast and video production. Audio and video production, video effects and graphics, and advanced digital techniques are offered both in a classroom setting and through projects that simulate real-world scenarios.

As the popularity of digital media grows, so does the necessity for highly-trained professionals who understand how to use it. This major prepares graduates to enter a successful career in an increasingly important industry.

Careers in broadcast and video require artistic aptitude, flexibility, imagination and creativity. They are often in high-stress environments due to strict deadlines, meaning project management, adaptability, critical thinking and problem solving are essential skills. Professionals must keep up with advances in technology and technique to keep skills current, so a dedication to lifelong learning is desired.

  • Full-time: 10 months of instruction
  • Part-time: 20 months of instruction
  • Program length may vary based on progress rate and/or summer school attendance.

Two sessions:  Monday — Friday

  • 7:55 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
  • 12:30 p.m. to 3:35 p.m.
  • High school students and part-time adults enroll in either AM or PM session.
  • Full-time adult students enroll in both sessions.
