About this Major

Estheticians must be able to perform detailed work with their hands and eyes. The work environment can be fast-paced, so self-motivation and strong time-management skills are important. Successful estheticians learn how to communicate in a professional manner and establish a rapport with clients and colleagues to maintain high standards for quality and customer service.

Students who complete the Esthetician major qualify to take the State Board of Cosmetology and Barbering exam for licensing. Facial care is one of the fastest-growing industries in the beauty profession with new products and techniques being introduced to customers in the finest salons. The Esthetician major will prepare you for a career in this fast-growing field.

Eligible Licensures/Certifications

  • OSBCB Esthetician/Facialist Master Exam
  • OSBCB Esthetician/Facialist Master License

*Francis Tuttle will pay the State Board Exam Registration Fee ($35) and the OSBCB Esthetician/Facialist Instructor license fee ($50) after the student obtains a passing score on the state licensure tests. The student will be responsible for the $5 registration fee as listed above (and included in the total estimated cost).

This career major's curriculum meets the professional licensure requirements for Oklahoma but does not meet the licensure requirements for all other states.
