About this Major
Advanced carpentry techniques are offered in this course, along with additional courses that contribute to a successful career in construction or construction site work. In addition to classes on drywall installation and site preparation, students learn how to do construction work while keeping the surrounding environment safe and personal job site safety.
Carpentry and cabinet making involves detailed work with the hands and eyes. Professionals work according to specific deadlines and must be able to manage projects and tasks and work both independently and as part of a team to complete projects as planned. For success in this career, you should have problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
