About this Major

This major has 4 courses that will get you introduced to the Adobe software used by graphic designers. Desktop Publishers are often an employee that can manipulate someone else's design or documents. Understanding the software will help you be able to work in the programs. The ability to distinguish between good and bad design, creativity, and willingness to be a lifelong learner are also beneficial characteristics of a Desktop Publisher.

Licensures/Certifications

Adobe Certified Associate — 1 certification from the following:

  • Print & Digital Publication using Adobe InDesign
  • Visual Communication Using Photoshop
  • Graphic Design & Illustration Using Adobe Illustrator

*One certification paid for by Francis Tuttle.  Additional, optional certifications are available at student expense.

  • Full-time: 5 months of instruction
  • Part-time: 10 months of instruction
  • Program length may vary based on progress rate and/or summer school attendance

Times

Daytime classes, two sessions: Monday — Friday

  • 7:55 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
  • 12:30 p.m. to 3:35 p.m.
  • High school students and part-time adults enroll in either AM or PM session. Full-time adults students enroll in both sessions.
