This 166-hour course is designed for individuals seeking foundational training as an Administrative Medical Assistant. Students will gain the essential knowledge and front office skills needed to support healthcare providers in clinical and hospital settings. Training focuses on key administrative responsibilities, including scheduling appointments, managing patient records, communicating with the healthcare team, and performing other front desk operations.
The course includes 166 hours of instruction over 17 weeks in a flexible, self-paced hybrid format. Hybrid means a combination of in-person classes and optional online hours via our Flexible Health Zoom Classroom. All skills training and exams must be completed in person, requiring weekly on-site attendance. Students work with the instructor to create a personalized schedule and may choose to complete the entire course in person if preferred.
The curriculum begins with a foundational course in Medical Terminology (MT). Students who have completed a comparable Medical Terminology course may be eligible for advanced standing. To request credit, students must submit a transcript showing successful completion (grade of C or better) to stormie.roberson@francistuttle.edu. Upon approval, students can enroll with adjusted hours and pricing by contacting an enrollment consultant at 405.717.4900.
Please note: Medical Terminology from this course does fulfill the prerequisite requirement for the Francis Tuttle Practical Nursing program.
Students who meet eligibility requirements may choose to pursue national certification through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA). Certification is optional and not included in the course. It is the student’s responsibility to research and understand the specific eligibility, training, and testing requirements. For more information on certification options, visit: https://nhanow.com
